WHAT IS YOUR SETUP?
Select the configuration that matches your event situation. Works on PC, Mac, iPad, Tablet and Smartphone.
Recommended
Direct mixer access
Any room equipped with a mixing console: convention centers, hotels, auditoriums. The speaker's mic is already connected to the board.
- Equipment: USB audio interface (e.g. iRig, USB sound card) and an audio cable matching the console output (6.35mm jack or XLR). The AV technician can usually provide the right cable.
- Setup: Get an output from the AV technician (AUX / LINE OUT / REC OUT), connect it to your audio interface, then plug the interface into your device via USB-C
- Pro tip: Ask for a dedicated REC OUT if available. It gives you a cleaner signal independent of the main mix
Universal
Wireless lavalier mic
Any situation, with or without a mixing board, with or without an AV technician. Works everywhere, independently of the room's installation.
- Equipment: Wireless lavalier mic (e.g. Rode Wireless GO) and a connection cable to your device
- Setup: Charge the transmitter and receiver beforehand (7h battery life), clip the transmitter on the speaker 15 to 20 cm from the mouth, then connect the receiver via USB-C and select it as audio input
- Pro tip: The Rode Wireless GO II allows two transmitters simultaneously, perfect for panel discussions. Plan a mic handoff if speakers follow one another
Small rooms
USB table microphone
Meetings, roundtables, workshops, quiet rooms under 50 people, without a sound system.
- Equipment: USB microphone (e.g. Rode NT-USB Mini, Blue Yeti)
- Setup: Place the microphone facing the speaker, connect the USB cable to your device, then launch Glot and verify the audio capture
- Pro tip: Position the mic under 50 cm from the speaker for the best transcription quality. Avoid this setup in large or noisy rooms
